Ngentile Slate

Slate is particularly suitable as a roofing material as it has an extremely low water absorption index of less than 0.4%. Its low tendency to absorb water also makes it very resistant to frost damage and breakage due to freezing. Slate roof tiles are usually fixed using either nail fixing, or the hook fixing method as is common with Spanish slate. In the UK, nailing is typically done with double nails onto timber battens (England and Wales) or nailed directly onto timber sarking boards (Scotland and Northern Ireland). Nails will traditionally be copper, although modern alloy and stainless steel alternatives are known. Both these methods, if used properly, will provide a long-lasting weathertight roof with a typical lifespan of around 80–100 years.

Ngentile Promotions ‘N Marketing is a wholly black owned company that promotes and markets products and services that provide everyday solutions in peoples’ lives. It operates from Soweto, Johannesburg’s south western township, the most populous township in the country.

The company employs 3 permanent employees and 6 agents, around the province.

Products

Ngentile Promotions currently has four innovative initial products, Fire Stryker, Mini Geyser, Enviro loo, and Natural Slate.

1. Fire Stryker (fire extinguisher) products, a product that has no match with its competitors in the industry. These are used for household, professional, transportation and industrial purposes.

Fire Stryker flame suppressant is a manual, portable aerosol inhibitor with remarkable extinguishing capability. It is non-toxic and environmentally safe. The device is a small, compact, lightweight cylinder: the upper part of the device is a metal tube containing the extinguishing charge. The lower part of the device is composed of plastic and serves as a support handle.

2. Mini Geyser, a product that provides water heating for people without geysers, especially for low cost houses and travellers.

The Mini geyser includes a heating element, a protective shroud, cable, molded plug, patented properties and safety control switch, and operates on any 220/230 volt 50 Hz electrical system (ESKOM standards). The unit draws 9 amps.

3. Enviro loos- these are environmentally friendly toilet units, that do not require flushing, contain no smell and chemically treats most of the human waste, which can then be rechanneled for fertilisation or disposed as per existing regulatory framework.

Our company has been given right to market this product in a number of areas.

4. Building Natural Slate- for flooring, roofing, wall cladding, landscaping and other uses. Our company manufactures these products from a quarry (mine), situated in the North West, Republic of South Africa. This product is not only beautiful in looks, but is also adaptive to any weather conditions and is for life, requiring no maintenance (provided the installation is correctly done).
