Ngentile Slate

Ngentile Slate
Slate is particularly suitable as a roofing material as it has an extremely low water absorption index of less than 0.4%. Its low tendency to absorb water also makes it very resistant to frost damage and breakage due to freezing. Slate roof tiles are usually fixed using either nail fixing, or the hook fixing method as is common with Spanish slate. In the UK, nailing is typically done with double nails onto timber battens (England and Wales) or nailed directly onto timber sarking boards (Scotland and Northern Ireland). Nails will traditionally be copper, although modern alloy and stainless steel alternatives are known. Both these methods, if used properly, will provide a long-lasting weathertight roof with a typical lifespan of around 80–100 years.

Fire Stryker flame suppressant is a manual, portable aerosol inhibitor with remarkable extinguishing capability. It is non-toxic and environmentally safe. The device is a small, compact, lightweight cylinder: the upper part of the device is a metal tube containing the extinguishing charge. The lower part of the device is composed of plastic and serves as a support handle.

2.   Mini Geyser, a product that provides water heating for people without geysers, especially for low cost houses and travellers.

3.   Enviro loos- these are environmentally friendly toilet units, that do not require flushing, contain no smell and chemically treats most of the human waste, which can then be rechanneled for fertilisation or disposed as per existing regulatory framework.
Our company has been given right to market this product in a number of areas.

4. Building Natural Slate- for flooring, roofing, wall cladding, landscaping and other uses. Our company manufactures these products from a quarry (mine), situated in the North West, Republic of South Africa. This product is not only beautiful in looks, but is also adaptive to any weather conditions and is for life, requiring no maintenance (provided the installation is correctly done).

Fire Stryker

Fire Stryker flame suppressant is a manual, portable aerosol inhibitor with remarkable extinguishing capability. It is non-toxic and environmentally safe. The device is a small, compact, lightweight cylinder: the upper part of the device is a metal tube containing the extinguishing charge. The lower part of the device is composed of plastic and serves as a support handle.

The product works by interrupting a fire’s chain of reaction (the “auto-catalyst” of the fire). The device is composed of stable, solid minerals; it does not contain gas and is not pressurized. The aerosol-like jet is only produced when the charger is stricken with its base. The produced aerosol jet is essentially an inert salt that emits gas already present in the atmosphere.

Fire Stryker is capable of extinguishing fires in different classes:
• Class A: Solid material, ordinary combustibles, such as wood, paper, fabric, plastics etc.
• Class 5B-8B-13B: Flammable liquids, such as gasoline, oil based paints, solvents, alcohol, acetone, etc.
• Class C: Gaseous category: GLP, methane, acetylene, etc.
• Class E: electrical equipment fires subject to voltages up to 1000v at a distance of 1m; Cable galleries, distribution cabinets, electronic devices

The benefits of using Fire Stryker above conventional extinguishers are:
  1. It is light-weight and easy to operate
  2. It puts out all classes of fire
  3. Its needs no servicing
  4. It has a 5 year guarantee
  5. It leaves no residue
  6. It is non-corrosive and non-toxic
  7. It is environmentally friendly.

Slate Backround

For over 80 years, slate products of top quality have been produced in South Africa for various use, which include slate tiles for roofing, flooring, wall cladding, landscaping and other applications.

Since the early 1970s, Slate products have been successfully supplied to countries like Australia, New Zealand, England, Far East, Europe, US and Canada. Ngentile Slate is currently engaged in a process of scaling these markets, to identify possible gaps and needs for Slate products.

A study commissioned by the Department of Mineral and Energy in 2005 concluded that there was very little or no role at all played by blacks in the Slate industry. The view was that this should be attended to and changed, giving all sectors of our society a meaningful role to play in the production and distributing of the product.

Compared to other products of similar use, which is roofing and flooring, Slate has continuously proved to be a product of better and high quality. Slate is a product that has mainly been used by the elite or people on the high income level, mainly situated in the Northern parts of Johannesburg and Cape Town, in South Africa, This has been in preference to other competing products like zinc/corrugate iron and tiles.
